hallo,
i am 35 years old and i have ms since 8 years.
i have already one daughter 3,5 years old.
i am planning to have a second child. when is the right time to stop using betaferon.
is it save for the baby, to use it until the test is possitive?
or do i have to stop it a few months earlier?

There is no evidence that beta interferon causes congenital abnormalities. The use of Interferon beta during the first weeks of pregnancy may increase the risk of spontaneous abortion. Therefore Interferon beta is usually recommended to stop as soon as a woman has become pregnant, or shortly before. You can restart using beta interferon after giving birth immediately, unless you are breast feeding.
